UK ACCIDENT STATS 2005/2006; The latest on road Traffic Accidents are now available, and show a slight improvement.

      2005, 3201 fatal, 28954 serious injury, 238,862 slight.

 2006, 3172 fatal, 28673 serious injury and 226559 slight. 

So there is light at the end of the tunnel                     

 

 FOR LGV AND PCV DRIVERS; From September 2008, all PCV drivers will have to undergo 35 hours training, in every 5 year period. From September 2009, all LGV drivers will have to complete the same training. This is an EU directive and the Driving Standards Agency will be administering the training. Full details in due course.  ANNUAL MOT TEST COULD BE SCRAPPED; MOT tests as they are now could be scrapped under new Government proposals. Presently cars three years old or more, require an annual MOT test. This could change to vehicles over 4 years old and then every 2 years. We wait to see.
